PHASE 3 COVID UPDATE MARCH 22, 2021
On March 11, 2021, Governor Jay Inslee announced that effective Monday, March 22, the entire State will enter Phase 3, thereby allowing 50% occupancy rates to businesses including Family Dog Training Center.
Under the Governor’s updated plan, counties will be individually evaluated every three weeks, so this could change. The evaluations will occur on Monday with any possible changes going into effect on Friday. The first evaluation is scheduled for April 12. We will notify students and post updates on our website and Facebook page if there are additional changes.
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR OUR CLIENTS
Starting March 22 we can now allow one additional family member (from the same household) to attend classes with the primary handler and family dog.
We will continue requiring the use of masks and hand sanitizer, along with temperature checks upon arrival at the facility; however, we will discontinue the requirement for written documentation stating participants are symptom free. Instructors will verbally ask each participant to confirm that they are symptom free and have not been in close contact with anyone with COVID. Anyone who has symptoms, or has been in contact with a COVID-positive individual should NOT come to class and advise our office () to schedule make-up classes and follow CDC and DOH guidelines.
We will continue to clean and sanitize the facility between classes.
Handlers who choose to have a family member accompany them to class may find their dog is a little more distracted. This is normal, and your instructor will help you work through it. If your family member wishes to participate and handle the dog during the class, that is acceptable. We encourage family participation, provided each person has been working with the dog at home, as well.
Thank you for your patience – and support – as we continue to progress through these challenging COVID times.
